Episode 9

Rosy and Evelyn started walking towards the oak tree happily with the Robin. A big bunch of fireflies glowed like a golden flame and guided their way. Rosy asked the Robin, " We are much thankful to be invited to the party. Can you tell me the reason for hosting this party? "

Evelyn who was walking little behind , admiring the moon suddenly came forward and said, "Yes even I wanted to know why they are having a party and that too late at night?.  The Robin smiled and said, "The Squirrels are celebrating. They usually work hard all day collecting nuts. So they are free only at night. The arrangements took so much time. So it has begun now. One of the squirrels saw you both talking in the garden and found you were very good girls. They decided to invite you both. Since they were all busy, they asked me to come to you and invite you.

Rosy again asked the Robin, "We are really glad to be invited over. Do they have parties often? Why are they hosting it now? Are they celebrating anyone's birthday?" There was a look of excitement on Rosy.

The Robin laughed. "No Rosy. Its no one's birthday.The squirrels usually collect nuts and store them in the trunk of the Oak tree. Every time it gets filled, they have a party. It is to congratulate themselves for working so hard."

"That is so sweet of the Squirrels. They know when to work and when to party. It is also a good learning for us. When we work so hard and achieve something, we can enjoy happily. " replied Evelyn brightly.

They started walking with so many happy thoughts in mind when Rosy suddenly remembered something and stopped. "Gifts. We have not got any gifts to give the squirrels. It was so kind of them to invite. But we should not go empty handed to a party. " Evelyn started to think. "But what shall we get at this time of the night to give the squirrels?"

"Its not a problem if you don't have gifts to share. The Squirrels are too friendly. They wont mind."
The Robin replied. "I got an idea" said Evelyn suddenly. "I got my pocket diary and pen. Can we write something to give to the squirrels?"

"Wow that's a great idea. Come lets think and write a beautiful note. " Rosy was too happy.They started to think and discuss. The fireflies buzzed above them giving them enough light to write properly. They were also eager to read the wonderful Present of words from Rosy and Evelyn. As they started to write, the fireflies read them and shouted "Great choice of words. The Squirrels will love them."

The Robin was too eager to read but waited till they complete. Once they completed, the Robin asked for the paper and started to read.

"Small little furs with a very Big Heart
Filling the Oak with nut and nut
Hard work is what that brought you here
Every Party that you deserve."

There was a big smile on the Robin's tiny little beak. "The Squirrels will love this really." It chirped happily. "Lets walk a bit faster now. The Party is about to start" . " Just one final touch. Let me tie something on the paper to make it look festive." Rosy took a big golden thread from the pocket of her gown, rolled the paper and tied the thread. It looked very grand now.

They were so happy. They finally reached the Oak tree. The Squirrels were standing near to guide them on the way up. "Welcome Rosy and Evelyn and thank you for accepting our invitation to the party." They turned to the Robin and the Fireflies. "Thank you so much for bringing them safely here.Come lets all go to the top and start to rock. We have good music, food and lots of fun games."

They all got excited. As they made their way to the top, they could hear music getting loud and louder. Their feet started to tap. The delicious smell of cakes flew here and there making them hungry. There were lots and lots of colored balloons. The festoons were full of glitters and it sparkled everywhere. There were little stars hanging from the branches. The fireflies were all seated on the leaves making them look more green than ever.

There were happiness everywhere. The Squirrels proudly showed their collection of nuts to everyone. They had worked so hard to collect them. Rosy has already made a promise in her mind to work as hard as the Squirrels.

We will also make a promise now Rosy that we will also work hard and never be lazy. You have a great time at the Party. Dance, make merry , enjoy the games and food. 

Episode 8

Rosy could hardly contain her excitement. She was literally jumping and hopping as she made her way to her room. BUZZZZZZZZZZ. Suddenly she could hear the fireflies buzzing merrily in the garden. She wanted to spend some time in the moonlight.  She went to the garden.

She was feeling so happy seeing the tiny torches. She tried to catch them but they flew faster and escaped from her. Rosy laughed. She was about to leave the garden and make her way to room when she saw someone sitting under a tree nearby. Rosy went near the tree.

She went close to the person sitting there and found that it was Evelyn. " Hi Evelyn " Rosy called out. Evelyn did not realise Rosy coming closer to her. She was surprised. She   got up and shook hands with Rosy. " Hello Rosy" She said.

"What are you doing under the tree in this late hour and why do you look so sad? " Rosy asked her. Evelyn looked as if she was about to cry. " Rosy I am really very very sad. I dont know if I will ever be happy again. " She said. Rosy got shocked. She can never see anyone crying.

"Evelyn please dont cry. Just tell me what happened and maybe I can help you. " Rosy said in a caring voice. Evelyn looked up at Rosy and said, " Rosy I came here to become a Princess but I have not succeeded in even one task. Also I am not pretty at all. See i have so many freckles. Noone will ever like me. " She said and cried.

" Dont ever think noone likes you Evelyn. We all like you. And dont worry about the puzzles too. You can succeed in the coming puzzles. " Rosy said gently trying to cinvince her but Evelyn went on crying.Rosy was about to comfort her again when she saw a big bush nearby. There were bunches and bunches of roses. Suddenly Rosy got an idea and took Evelyn near the bushes.

"See the lovely Roses Evelyn. Dont you feel happy seeing the bright red roses and smelling their heavenly fragrance? " Rosy asked her. Evelyn looked at the roses once and said, " I am not interested in the Roses now Rosy. I am feeling so sad. " Evelyn replied.

" See there is a reason why I took you here. The roses have so much thorns on the stem. And it is very difficult to go near the plant because of them. But still people go and be near it or take it in their arms to admire it. We are also similar to that. When we have something good , people will overcome all thorny hurdles and be with you ever. It need not be just beauty. It can be anything good. " Rosy said.

Evelyn suddenly looked so happy. " I can see things clearly now. Thank you Rosy for making me understand this. I will be good and motivate people like the way you did just now. I will compete well in the puzzles too. " She said happily.

Both the girls looked so lovely in the moonlight and the diamond stars. They decided to go back to their rooms and sleep. They made their way to the room when they heard a small voice calling them." Rosy , Evelyn. Can you hear me? "

They searched a lot but could not find the source of the voice. It called them again. They searched again and found that a small robin was calling them. It was so small with a lovely set of blue eyes and a tiny sharp beak.

"Hello there. I was listening to all that you both were talking. I am so happy that you understood the value of goodness in your lives. " Rosy and Evelyn looked happily. " "There is a party scheduled at the top of the oak tree. Would you like to come? The squirrels asked me to invite you both. " The robin said.

Rosy and Evelyn looked at each other. They badly wanted to go but it was so late in the night. The robin looked at them and understood their problem. " Its just for an hour. We will come back soon. Dont worrry. " The robin said.

Rosy and Evelyn accepted the invitation and walked towards the oak tree.

Have a great time at the party Rosy. We will also enjoy with you. We will also be good and make friends like the Rose. 

Episode 7

Rosy felt she was in a dream. She was with her mother after a very long time. She felt so happy seeing the sky blue eyes of her mother speaking in such a gentle voice full of love and care for Rosy. Her soft hands hugged Rosy and her long slender fingers held Rosy's hand as they walked across the lawn to Rosy's room.

The eagle was standing near the door and was waiting for them. Rosy ran quickly to the eagle and said, " Eagle this is my mother. The   lion has brought my mother to me as I had won the first two rounds. " Rosy's eyes twinkled with happiness. She was so eager to show her mother to everyone.

The Eagle smiled at her and shook hands with her mother. It said, " I am so happy to meet you Madam. Rosy is such a wonderful child and we are very happy to be with her. She is very clever too. She will be a very grand princess one day. "

Rosy's mother was so happy to hear such sweet words about her daughter. She smiled so much that she turned red like a lovely rose. Rosy gets so excited to see her mother so happy because of her.

" Rosy dear, tomorrow is the day for the third puzzle. You go and take rest now. We will have to send your mother back home now." The eagle said. Rosy gets sad. She thought her mother will stay with her ever. Now she has to leave her mother for some more time.

" Can I get to be with my mother ever Eagle ,please ? I really dont want her to go back. " Rosy asked. " No dear. It wont be fair. All the other girls have left their mom behind.   " The eagle replied. " If my mother has to go back, I will also go back. I dont want to be a Princess" cried Rosy.

Her mother gently wiped her tears and looked at her. " Rosy dear , do not cry. You have crossed almost half the journey for becoming a Princess. Do not give up now. Also the best quality in a Princess is to care for others than about yourself. Be a good girl. "

Her mother kissed her and went with the eagle to go back home. Rosy felt sad for sometime but remembered what her mother told her. A good Princess should care for others. She went to her room and decided to rest to solve the puzzle the next day.

The next day dawned bright. The orange ball of sun glittered Rosy's window like a golden bar. Rosy got up , got dressed and came out. She was so eager to go to the lion to get the next puzzle. She knocked at the door of the lion's study.

"Come in"  The lion said. " Good morning Lion. " said Rosy. " Very good morning Rosy dear. I am so happy to see you so bright. Here is the clue to the next puzzle. Put in all your efforts to solve it. " The lion said and gave a piece of paper to Rosy.

Rosy thanked the lion and came out. She opened the paper. It read, " YOU CAN SEE ME AS A PART IN A RAINBOW WHEN IT RAINS. YOU CAN SEE ME  AS A WHOLE IN A MOON ON A FULL MOON DAY. YOU CAN SEE ME AS A WHOLE IN A SUN EVER. EVERYONE SAYS I DONT HAVE SIDES BUT I SAY I HAVE TWO SIDES. COME TO ME. "

Rosy read this again and again. She felt it difficult to solve this puzzle. She went to the lawn and sat under a very big apple tree. She felt relaxed and calm to think over the puzzle there. She looked up at the sun. You can see me in a sun ever and in a moon on a full moon day. She could not find it out.

She took a small twig that fell near her and was scribbling on the mud as she continued thinking. Suddenly she stopped. She had scribbled a circle on the mud. She felt she has solved the puzzle. We can see a semi circle of a rainbow on a rainy day. Only full moon day has moon in a circle and sun is circle ever.

Rosy gets so happy. " The answer has to be a circle. It does not have any sides. But the last line says, I say i have two sides. What could that mean? " Rosy thought hard. Rosy gets too confused and threw the twig on the circle she drew in the mud. It fell inside the circle. Rosy looked at it.

She jumps suddenly in excitement. " Thats it. The circle's two sides are inside and outside. I will be the winner. " She thinks so happily and runs to find where the circle is. Just outside the lawn there is a big park where she and the other girls play around. She remembers seeing a big circle in the middle of the park. She decides she has to go there and she hurries.

As she is about to reach the park, she hears a very feeble sound calling for help. " Please help me. Can anyone hear me? " The voice said. Rosy stops and starts to find where the voice is coming from. She searches and finds a bush. A small sparrow is caught in the thorny bush and is not able to come out.

On seeing Rosy , it starts to shout , " Hey little girl please help me. My legs are paining badly because of the thorns. " Rosy goes near to help the sparrow. Suddenly she sees Dency opening the gate of the park and rushing to the circle. She would lose if she stops to help the sparrow.

Rosy turned to go to the park when she remembers her mother's words. A good Princess will always care for others. " Even if I win and not help the sparrow I will be a bad Princess. I do not want to be like that. " She thinks and helps the sparrow.

The sparrow thanked Rosy a lot and flew away happily. Rosy knew she lost the chance to be the winner and walked slowly to the circle in the park. The Lion , The eagle and Dency were standing near the circle and talking. On seeing her the Lion rushed to her and hugged her. " I am so proud of you Rosy dear. Dency just told me the reason why you got late. For your care and affection towards others I declare you to be the winner of this round. "

Rosy could not believe her ears. She started to jump in joy.

We are very Happy too Rosy. You will be a very good Princess. We too will care for others like you

Episode 6

When Rosy got to her room she was very tired. She  wanted to sleep immediately. She changed her dress,  brushed her teeth and brushed her hair. She was about to say her prayers when she heard a knocking sound on her door. It was a soft knock.

"Who is that? "Rosy called." It's me dear. Are you sleeping? " The eagle replied. She ran to open the door. The eagle was standing there very majestically with a big deer. The deer had great big horns and it had a gentle smile.

" Hello are you Rosy? "The eagle just told me all about you. I am so happy to meet you." The deer said in a soft voice. Rosy liked the deer immediately. She replied back. "Hi deer I am Rosy. I am so happy to meet you too. How are you?" 

"I am fine Rosy. You will be very happy to know the reason why I am here. " The deer said." I am so eager to know it deer. "Rosy replied." As you have won the first two rounds,  we have decided to reward you. I can take you anywhere to meet one person you like the most. You can be with them for a day and come back here. "

Rosy gets very happy now. She can think of no one else but her mother. She missed her very badly. She immediately hugs the deer and says" Deer please let's go and meet my mother. I miss her very badly. I know she will miss me even more than that. "

The deer smiles and says," Sure Rosy. We will leave early tomorrow morning. Get up early and get ready soon. Sleep now. Good night. " Rosy bid good night to both the deer and the eagle and goes to bed. She could hardly sleep that night. She has a whole day to spend with her mother. She would tell all about the puzzles,  the eagle,  the lion and all the girls.

She was thinking all happy thoughts and went to sleep. She woke up very early the next morning. She brushed her teeth,  took bath and dressed in a colorful gown that shone like a rainbow. It was a bright orange colored frock with blue and  green color laces here and there. She wore a white shoe and she brushed her hair for one last time and looked at the mirror.

She looked so pretty and clean. Her mother would be happy to see her a dressed up by herself  so neat and tidy. She went to the garden and saw there were roses. She immediately plucked a bunch of bright red roses and made a bouquet. She tied it with a golden thread that was in her table and she held it against the sun to look at it closely.

It was so pretty and it smelled so lovely. It was the best gift for her sweet mother. She thought so lovingly. She  was waiting for the deer at the lawn and started walking restlessly. "Good morning Rosy." She turned to see Charlotte coming towards her.

"Good morning Charlotte. It's so early. Do you always get up so early? " Rosy asked her." I had a dream of meeting my mother and suddenly felt I missed her so much. I could not sleep after that. I woke up immediately after that. Why did you wake up so early Rosy? " Charlotte asked.

Rosy told all about the deer and that she was going to meet her mother. Charlotte started crying." I am sorry Rosy. I do not mean anything bad. It's just that I wanted to see mother and now do not have the chance to do it. "

Rosy felt too bad for Charlotte. She was about to wipe her tears when she saw the deer coming towards her. Suddenly an idea struck her. She rushed to the deer." Good morning Rosy. I feel that you are all ready. Shall we leave now? " the deer asked her.

" I am ready deer. But I have a question. Can you please answer it?" Rosy asked her. She continued, "Can we take Charlotte along with us? She misses her mother very badly and she may feel bit happy when she meets her mother." 

"Oh Rosy. I appreciate your care. But the lion has instructed me to take only one of you girls to meet your mother and since you have won the first two rounds you have won this place. "The deer replied.
Rosy became silent and started thinking. Finally she said," Can you take Charlotte to see her mother instead of me deer.? I feel so sad to see her crying."

She was almost in tears when she said this but she was bold. She looked at the deer. The deer smiled at her and said,  " l can do that. Are you sure you want to give this chance to Charlotte and not meet your mother.?" Rosy said yes and went to Charlotte who was still crying.

"Charlotte don't cry. You go with the deer to meet your mother. " Charlotte could not believe her ears. She hugged Rosy and thanked her. She rushed to the deer to start to her mother when Rosy called her." Please take this bunch of roses to your mother. I took it for my mother but since I am not going, these will make your mother happy at least."

Charlotte thanked her again for the roses. And went with the deer to meet her mother. Rosy went to her room and cried for a couple of minutes. She was so happy to meet her mother but now she gave her chance to someone. She felt happy after a while that she has made Charlotte happy.

She was busy the whole day reading books in the Lions library and was helping the gardeners tend the garden. Towards evening she was completely tired. She was about to go to her room to sleep when she saw the lion calling her.

"Rosy dear you are a very special girl. You try to make others happy though you get sad because of that. It's a big thing you gave your chance to Charlotte to meet her mother.  We have a special gift for you. "

Rosy goes to the lion and smiles and asked with eager eyes, " I am very interested to know lion. What is the special gift? " The lion turns and calls someone. The person walks in towards her. She could not control her joy. She jumps towards the person and hugest her tight. Its her mother. Her mother too hugs her and kisses her.

She could not think of anything else. Her mother's warmth was enough for her. She thinks she will even give her chance to be a Princess to be with her mother all the time.

Episode 5

"All Hail Princess Rosy".  The crowd was shouting in joy. Rosy was dressed in a milk white long Frock and was wearing a crown with sparkling diamonds. She wore a laced glove with glitters on it and her shoes shined like white marble.

She was feeling all happy and her parents came and hugged her. Suddenly she felt she couldn't hug them. She got sad. She opened her eyes. It was all a dream. She sat up on the bed. She felt she missed her mother a lot.

She went to the nearby table and had a glass of water. She felt bit fine now. She opened the door of her room and saw outside. It was a long corridor and there was a small dim light on the top of it. The ceiling had small pictures of stars which twinkled.

She felt she was under a real sky. She walked along the corridor. She wanted to go to the eagle. She felt comfortable when the eagle is near her. She knew the eagle stayed in the ground floor of the Lions house.

She walked downstairs. There were 8 rooms in total. She walked along all the rooms. She could not guess which room was occupied by the eagle. She could not knock at the doors of the room too.  She would be disturbing them all in their sleep.

She decided to go to the garden to walk for sometime. When she went to the garden she saw the eagle standing there. She ran to it and hugged it. "Rosy dear. Why are you awake? You will spoil your health. Please go and sleep. You have to solve the next puzzle too." The eagle said.

"I cannot sleep Eagle. I miss my mother a lot. I feel so bad on leaving her at my village back. I want to go to her. "She said.  The eagle looked at her and made her sit in its lap and gently told her," Rosy you need to understand certain things. It's a lesson for you each day here. Once you learn all these lessons by your experience, you will become the greatest Princess ever lived on earth."

"What will I learn everyday? There is no teacher here. "Rosy said. The Eagle laughed and said," You have learnt two important lessons here so far. First,  always tell the truth. It will give you rewards. You told the truth that Ada was the first one to solve it. And see now you are also declared the winner. You are rewarded for speaking the truth. 

Second,  you learn to do your things without your mother now. You are growing up to be a big girl and now doing things on your own will help you as you grow. You are getting independent.  "

Rosy looked at the eagle and said, " Yes I made my bed today and tied my hair on my own. Usually mother does it for me. "
" Good. " replied the eagle." Everyday is a new Lesson. Learn something good daily. It will help you.  Now go and sleep. You will have to solve the puzzle tomorrow. "

Rosy was relieved now. She said good night to the eagle and went to her room. She slept peacefully. Morning dawned. She got up and got ready and came eagerly to the living room of the lion. The lion was making fruit juices for everyone. It smiled when Rosy came in and said Good morning.

"Good morning Rosy. Have fruits and juice and be ready to get your clue for the next puzzle."The lion said. Rosy got little nervous but she turned and saw the eagle coming near her. She felt comfortable now. She drank her juice and had an apple, orange and a pear.

She then went to the lion to ask for the next clue. The lion looked at her and said, "Rosy,  read the puzzle carefully and solve it. Do not discuss your answers with others like you did last time." 

"Sure lion. I won't make the same mistake again. I will solve it properly."Rosy said and got up to get the clue from the lion. The lion handed a small piece of paper to her. She couldn't wait to read it and she opened it immediately.

"TAKE 4 STEPS IN THE GARDEN IN THE DIRECTION WHERE SUN RISES. FROM THERE TAKE 5 STEPS IN THE DIRECTION WHERE THE SUN SETS. TAKE 6 STEPS ON YOUR LEFT. NOW ADD ALL THE STEPS YOU HAVE TAKEN SO FAR AND WALK THEM ON YOUR RIGHT. YOU WILL FIND ME. "

Rosy gets so excited and rushes to the garden. All the girls are seen there with their animals with the piece of the clue the Lion had given them. She gets so nervous on seeing them. She prays she has to finish them fast before the other girls do.

She goes to a place and starts reading the puzzle again. "You don't cry now.  I will see what I can do for you." She turned at the voice. It belonged to the Giraffe and Betty was standing near it. She turned to her. Betty was crying so badly. Rosy felt sad.

She rushed to Betty and took her hand and asked why was she crying. She said she did not know the directions at all. Her mother tried to teach her but she wouldn't listen. Now she cannot solve the puzzle at all.

Rosy tried to stop her crying and said "You can always win the next puzzle. Don't worry. You take this day as a lesson and learn your directions properly." 

But Betty was still crying. Rosy decided to leave her and start solving the puzzle. She read the paper again. 'The direction where the sun rises' . Its East. She took 4 steps in the east. Then she looked at the paper again. 'The direction where the sun sets' . It's West.  She took 5 Steps in West. 'Take 6 steps on your left' . She took 6 steps. 'Now add all the steps so far and take them on your right.' She started adding.

4 + 5 gives 9. Then 9 + 6 gives 15. She took 15 steps on her right. She saw a small brown box on a stone nearby. She was about to take it when Betty ran in front of her and took the box. Rosy gets shocked. She saw that Betty will be the winner of this puzzle. She wanted to cry. Suddenly she thought how Betty would have completed that when she did not know the directions.

She went to her. "Betty I see you have completed the puzzle first. I too completed. But tell me how did you manage when you did not know the directions." Betty did not reply. She looked so pale.She just opened the box. It had a piece of paper in which was written,  "CONGRATS YOU ARE THE WINNER". 

She looked both happy and sad. The Lion came to Betty and saw that she had the box. It congratulated her. Rosy was standing near and looked as if she was about to cry.

Betty suddenly gave the box to Rosy and said,  "Lion I am sorry. I took shortcuts which was against the rule. The Giraffe was tall and could look over a long distance. It can see where any object was placed and told me to take this box. I did not know the directions. So I could not solve the puzzle."

The Lion smiled at her and said,  "It takes courage to tell the truth. I appreciate you." It turned to Rosy. "It seems you are the winner again Rosy. Congratulations." Rosy was so happy and jumped in joy.

She thought about what the eagle told her the previous night. Lessons to be learnt every day. She felt she learnt two important lessons today also.
1)  Never take shortcuts in your work. Always work hard.
2)  Always pay attention to what is taught to you. It will help you any day.

Congrats Rosy and thank you.  We are also learning good lessons from you. 

Episode 4

Morning dawned bright and golden. The sun's rays fell on Rosy and her long bushy black hair flowed like a river on the pillows. Rosy slowly opened her eyes and she felt scared on seeing the new place. She completely forgot she was at the Lions house. 

"Rosy dear,  are you awake? Shall we get started? Please get ready soon. "The eagle was telling her from a small gap in the door. She immediately got up. She was feeling very excited. She wanted to solve the puzzle soon and become a Princess. 

She went to the washroom,  brushed her teeth and had her bath. There was a big wardrobe in her room filled with many beautiful dresses. She selected a beautiful long red frock with roses on the collars and laces on the arms. She had a dazzling red shoes to match too. 

She dressed up nicely and saw her in the mirror. She looked too cute. "I already look like a Princess. I will be one soon." She thought happily and went out. The eagle was sitting on the sofa in the living room. It looked at Rosy and said, "Oh my dear. You are so pretty. Come.  Have this piece of bread and butter and get ready to meet the lion." 

She sat down and ate her breakfast hurriedly. She then left with the eagle to the study where the lion was siting at a big desk. He had so many papers in front of him. He was eagerly reading one of that when the eagle said, "Good morning Lion. We are ready for the first puzzle." 

The lion looked up at Rosy and said, "Good morning. I am glad to see you all eager to solve the puzzle. Come sit down and I will tell you the details." She sat down on one of the chairs in front of the lion while the eagle stood behind her. 

The lion handed over a small piece of paper to Rosy. She leaned forward and got it eagerly. " Read this Rosy. You have to solve this puzzle. When you solve you should go to the place given in that. If you finish before the other girls you will be the winner of this first event." 

She prayed in her heart that the puzzle should be easy and opened the paper. It said, " I MOVE AROUND IN ALL DIRECTIONS. YOU CANNOT HOLD ME AND I CANNOT HOLD YOU. I HELP YOU IN MANY WAYS. WHEN YOU DON'T FEEL ME YOU FEEL HOT AND WHEN YOU FEEL ME SO MUCH YOU FEEL COLD. COME TO MY WORK PLACE TO SEE HOW MUCH I HELP YOU. "

Rosy read the clue twice and kept the paper inside her pocket. The lion said," All the best Rosy. You have time till evening. Be sure you solve it fast." She thanked the lion and came out of the room. The eagle followed her. 

" Rosy dear. Did you read the puzzle? Can you solve it.? I should not help you solve the puzzle but I can take you wherever you want to go. " Rosy was only half listening to the eagle. She was thinking about the puzzle. 

" In all directions."Rosy said absent mindedly."Yes dear. In all directions.  I can take you in all directions.  Just tell me where do you want to go." Rosy looked at the eagle. "How will you go in all directions." The eagle replied, "I fly in the air." 

" Air is everywhere right. I cannot hold it and it cannot hold me. I have solved it eagle. The answer is air. "Rosy jumped joyfully and gave the paper with the clue to the eagle. The eagle read it excitedly and looked at Rosy proudly and said," Yes Rosy I think it's air. We feel hot when we don't have enough air and feel cold and chilly when air blows hard. "

Rosy is too happy to solve it so quickly." But what is air's workplace? What work does it do other than blowing in all directions? "She thought hard. She could not get a solution. She comes out of the house and sits on the lawn. She thinks and thinks but she cannot come to a solution. 

" Hi Rosy" she turns at the sound of her name. Ada is standing there with a big shark. She is wearing a beautiful yellow frock and she was shining like gold in the sunlight. Rosy smiled and waved back. "Did you get the clue? Have you solved it?" Rosy asked her. 

Ada said,  "I just got the paper now. I have read it and thinking now. I have to solve it in a while now." she said. Rosy replied, "I have solved part of the  puzzle but could not solve the other half." 

"Oh you must be very clever then. "Ada said. Rosy blushed. She gets too excited."Oh that's nothing. Everyone knows it's the air that blows in all directions. I only need to find its work place now." 

Ada looked at Rosy. "Oh Rosy you have given me the answer now. Yes.  I too think it's the air. Wait lets think what work the air does."  She started to walk to and from on the lawn and starts thinking. Rosy too thinks hard. 

Suddenly Ada runs to Rosy with a big smile. "I know the answer Rosy. It's the wind mill where the air is made to work. Air in motion is wind and wind does work in a  windmill to carry pails of water. Come. Let's go to the windmill." she shouts excitedly and runs to the shark to take her to the windmill. 

Rosy runs to the eagle and asks her to take her to the windmill. "Very good Rosy.  I am happy that you have solved it." The eagle says and it starts flying with Rosy at a great speed. Rosy searches for a windmill from the back of the eagle and shouts, "Look eagle. At the west. There is a big windmill. Please go there as fast as you can." 

The eagle smiles and flies even more fast. They reach the windmill. A big tiger is sitting in front of the windmill on a very big wooden chair. On seeing the eagle it waves happily. "Welcome Eagle. I see you have solved the puzzle Rosy. You are the first to come here."

Rosy was so happy. She jumped from the Eagle's back and jumped in joy. The Lion was standing in the nearby field and came running to Rosy." Rosy dear congrats. It looks like you have won the first round. "

" Hi all" She turned at the sound of Ada who was standing near with the Shark. "We got delayed on the way as we had to stop for water for the Shark." She smiled and came near to Rosy. "Congrats Rosy.  You have won."  

Rosy felt bad. It was Ada who first found out the place was windmill. She went to the lion and said,  "I am sorry Lion. I broke the rule. I got the help from Ada. She was the one who first found the place was the Windmill." 

She went to Ada. She held her hands and said,  "You deserve to be the winner Ada." The lion called Ada aside and talked to her for a while. When they came back the lion said,  "You are a very nice child Rosy. You are a honest girl. We declare 

You and Ada to be the winner of this first puzzle. Congrats." Rosy could not control her joy and hugged the eagle. 

We are happy for you Rosy. You are a very nice girl than we imagined. We are happy in solving the puzzles with you to become the Princess. 

Episode 3

The Eagle and Rosy flew for a very long time without stopping.  Now and then the eagle turned and asked "Rosy are you comfortable ?"  Rosy replied yes. They crossed many rivers,  tall trees, Green Meadows and two mountains.

Rosy was watching all this with great excitement.  She was very happy. She even shouted hi to the birds which flew nearby her and wished Good Morning. She tried to touch the tall tress when she flew near them but she was flying higher than that.

She had a very happy time. Finally the eagle started to get down. It turned to Rosy and said,  "Rosy dear,  we have come to the cave where the Lion lives.  He is a very wise creature. Be respectful to it. You should listen to him carefully and should not talk in between.  When he finishes speaking you can ask any doubts."

Rosy gets scared a little. She feared to see the lion though the eagle said it won't eat Rosy. Also when the lion tells the puzzle she has to solve it to become a Princess.  She gets so tensed. The eagle sees her face, comes to her and says, "Don't be sad Rosy. You will solve the puzzle and become a Princess.  Smile now and come with me to meet the lion."

Rosy smiles and follows the eagle inside a very big dark cave.  Rosy holds the eagle tightly. The eagle Knocks on the door of the cave. "Who is it?" A Stern voice is heard.

The Eagle replies, "Hi Lion,  it's me, the Eagle." The lion opens the door and immediately out of fear Rosy hides behind the eagle.  "Now now, who is this with you?" The lion asks the Eagle in a very kind voice. Rosy forgets all her fear hearing the kind voice.

"This is Rosy. She has come to you to ask you for the puzzle.  She has to solve it to become the Princess ", the eagle replies. The lion smiles and and turns to Rosy and gives her a hand shake." You look so pretty and smart. You will make a fine Princess Rosy. Put all your efforts properly to solve the puzzle. I hope you have read all the rules." The lion said in a gentle voice.

Rosy shook hands with the lion and starts listening to him carefully. When it finished speaking she said, "Yes lion I know the rules."
" Do you know what happens when you do not solve the puzzle? "The lion asked.

" The eagle said we will be sent back to our homes and we will not become a Princess. "Rosy replied.
" Good. You know all the details. We will start our first puzzle. There are Seven puzzles totally. The one who solves the maximum will be the Winner. "

" There are seven participants totally including you Rosy. You have to be friendly to them and not fight at any time. You have to obey the rules properly. I got a news from the owl Messenger that the other six girls are on the way.  We will wait for them and then start on our task. " the lion explained.

Rosy was so eager to see the other girls. The Lion gave her many story books to read as she waited. Rosy sat on a chair and read all the books. She was about to  complete the last one when the Lion came to her." Rosy please come with me. Let's welcome the girls. "

She came running to the door of the cave. She saw a beautiful sight. Six girls were standing near the door. Each girl was accompanied by one animal. The Lion smiled and welcomed them all and asked them to come inside.

As everyone came inside,  the eagle stood from its chair and came near Rosy. It started to introduce all the girls to Rosy. There was Ada with a big shark,  Betty with a giraffe,  Charlotte with a Tortoise, Dency with a tiger,  Evelyn with a Horse and Fairlin with a parrot.

All seemed friendly and sweet.  Rosy shook hands with all and she felt she would make friends with all of them. "All of you have traveled far to reach here. You go and rest.  I have made arrangements for all of you. Sleep well.  Tomorrow will be a busy day as you will be solving the first puzzle." The lion said.

Rosy and all the other girls were given rooms in the first floor of the cave while the animals slept in the ground floor in their respective rooms. As she went to bed,  Rosy prayed, "God please let the puzzles be easy. I want to be a Princess." she got into the bed and slept.

Don't worry Rosy. We will also pray God for easy puzzles so that you become a Princess soon.
